It was assigned to Mesoeucrocodylia by Fiorelli and Calvo (2008); to Crocodyliformes by Nascimento and Zaher (2011), Bronzati et al. (2012); to Crocodyliformes by Pol and Norell (2004), Zaher et al. (2006), Gasparini et al. (2006), Clark (2011), Buscalioni (2017); and to Shartegosuchoidea by Dollman et al. (2018).
