Limopsis multistriata was named by Forsskal (1775) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene-Recent; Indo-Pacific.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Limopsis (Pectunculina) multistriata by Oliver (1992), van den Hoek Ostende et al. (2002).
