Ostrea recondita was named by Solander (1766) [DSITRIBUTION: Europe; Middle Eocene.]. It is not a trace fossil.
It was recombined as Pecten reconditus by Sowerby (1850) and Wood (1861); it was recombined as Chlamys recondita by Burton (1933) and Wozny (1977); it was recombined as Mimachlamys reconditus by Hendy (2007).
