Taxonomy
Cardium palmatum was named by Goldfuss (1837). It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Glyptohallicardia.
It was recombined as Glyptohallicardia palmatum by Grimm (1998); it was recombined as Glyptohallicardia palmata by Jagt-Yazykova et al. (2006).
