Taxonomy
Trochoceramus tricostatus was named by Alencáster and Omaña (2006). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Ocozocoautla Fm., bed 2016, which is in a Maastrichtian transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in the Ocozocoautla Formation of Mexico.
