Taxonomy
Struthiochenopus was named by Zinsmeister and Griffin (1995) [Sepkoski's age data: K Camp T Mi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 1074]. Its type is Perissoptera nordenskjoldi.

It was assigned to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); to Aporrhaidae by Stilwell et al. (2004), Nielsen (2005); and to Struthiopterinae by Kollmann (2009).
