K. Bandel 2007The shell has an angled spire that bears oblique, blunt tubercles. The type species is about 11 mm high. The body whorl has a spiral rib as well as axial ribs. The outer lip is a narrow pointed wing as in Drepanocheilus. The Santonian Tulochilus jouberti KIEL & BANDEL, 2002 from the lower portion of the Umzamba Formation in South Africa has a protoconch with four smooth whorls. The embryonic whorl is small, the following increasing rapidly in size.
