Drepanocheilus (Tulochilus) was named by Finlay and Marwick (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: T Dani].

It was reranked as Tulochilus by Sepkoski (2002), Bandel (2007).

It was assigned to Drepanocheilus by Finlay and Marwick (1937), Beu et al. (1990); to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002); and to Aporrhaidae by Bandel (2007).

Diagnosis

K. Bandel 2007	The shell has an angled spire that bears oblique, blunt tubercles. The type species is about 11 mm high. The body whorl has a spiral rib as well as axial ribs. The outer lip is a narrow pointed wing as in Drepanocheilus. The Santonian Tulochilus jouberti KIEL & BANDEL, 2002 from the lower portion of the Umzamba Formation in South Africa has a protoconch with four smooth whorls. The embryonic whorl is small, the following increasing rapidly in size.
