Taxonomy
Vicaryella was named by Yabe and Hatai (1938) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-l T Mi-m Sepkoski's reference number: 909]. Its type is Vicaryella tyosenica.

It was assigned to Potamididae by Shuto (1978); and to Neotaenioglossa by Sepkoski (2002).
