Aneurystoma was named by Cossmann (1899) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than T Mi-u-l Sepkoski's reference number: 794]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Cancellariidae by Wienrich (2001); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
