Taxonomy
Cancellaria scheibei was named by Anderson (1929) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle-Late Miocene; Colombia]. Its type specimen is CAS 4627, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Cancellaria (Pyruclia) scheibei by Woodring (1970), Jung and Petit (1990), Landau et al. (2007); it was recombined as Pyruclia scheibei by Landau and Marques da Silva (2010), Landau et al. (2012).
