Pleurotoma decussata was named by Couthouy (1839) [DISTRIBUTION: Pleistocene-Recent; Northern Atlantic.]. It is extant.

It was recombined as Bela decussata by Norton (1975); it was recombined as Oenopota decussata by Simonarson et al. (1998); it was recombined as Curtitoma decussata by Bogdanov (1990), Hendy et al. (2008).
