Yoldia serica
Taxonomy
Nucula serica was named by Conrad (1848) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Oligocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. Its type specimen is ANSP 30675, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vicksburg, which is in a Rupelian marine marl in the Byram Marl Formation of Mississippi.
It was recombined as Leda serica by Conrad (1854); it was recombined as Nuculana serica by Conrad (1865); it was recombined as Yoldia serica by Cooke (1921), Dockery (1982).
