Noetia pulchra was named by Gabb (1860) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Gulf Coastal Plain.]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Halonanus.
It was recombined as Trinacria pulchra by Harris (1919); it was recombined as Halonanus pulchra by Stewart (1930); it was recombined as Halonanus pulchrus by Gardner (1945).
