Taxonomy
Hipparionyx ereme was named by Talent (1963). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 83. Between Davey Nob and Woolshed Creek, Mitchell River National Park, which is in a Pragian marine sandstone in the Tabberabbera Formation of Australia.
