It was recombined as Spiriferina kentuckiensis by Raymond (1911); it was recombined as Spiriferina kentuckyensis by Girty (1915), Morningstar (1922), Branson (1930); it was recombined as Punctospirifer kentuckyensis by Dunbar and Condra (1932), Elias (1957), Hoare (1961); it was recombined as Punctospirifer kentuckensis by Mudge et al. (1962).
