Taxonomy
Amblystoma minshalli was named by Tihen and Chantell (1963). Its type specimen is UN 61002, a set of vertebrae (trunk vertebra), and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Norden Bridge Quarry, which is in a Barstovian channel sandstone in the Valentine Formation of Nebraska.
