Hyphantozyga filicosta
Taxonomy
Hemizyga (Hypantozyga) filicosta was named by Hoare (1961). Its type specimen is U. Iowa J.B. Owen Coll. 6154, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Loc. 42. Waste banks of the Missouri Public Service pits, just north of Clinton, which is in a Desmoinesian carbonate limestone/shale in the Cabaniss Formation of Missouri.
It was recombined as Hemizyga (Hyphantozyga) filicosta by Yochelson and Saunders (1967); it was recombined as Hyphantozyga filicosta by Wagner (2023).
