Taxonomy
Varicospira zuschini was named by Harzhauser (2007) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene; Oman.]. Its type specimen is NHMW 2006z0230/0001, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Karmah Pass - Warak Fm, which is in a Chattian shallow subtidal limestone/grainstone in the Warak Formation of Oman.
