Taxonomy
Fulgoraria was named by Schumacher (1817) [Sepkoski's age data: T Than R]. It is extant. Its type is Voluta rupestris.

It was assigned to Volutidae by White (1889), Nagao (1928), MacNeil (1960) and Mount (1976); to Fulgorariinae by Squires and Goedert (1994); and to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002).
