Taxonomy

Nuculana (Saccella) fabalis was named by Olsson (1964) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Ecuador, Mexico.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Telembi [Angostura Fm], which is in a Miocene shallow subtidal sandstone/conglomerate in the Angostura Formation of Ecuador.

It was recombined as Saccella fabalis by Woodring (1973), Perrilliat (1992).
