Pyrula pseudobucephala was named by Noetling (1901) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Oligocene; Myanmar.]. It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Singu (Singu stage), which is in a Chattian marine horizon in the Singu Formation of Myanmar.
It was recombined as Melongena pseudobucephala by Vredenburg (1921), Vredenburg (1923).
