Coptochetus danicus was named by Schnetler (1985) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Denmark.]. It is not a trace fossil. It is the type species of Boreosiphopsis.

It was recombined as Boreosiphopsis danicus by Schnetler (1997).
