Miraclathurella was named by Woodring (1928) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi Sepkoski's reference number: 909]. Its type is Miraclathurella vittata.

It was reranked as Euclathurella (Miraclathurella) by Woodring (1970).

It was assigned to Mangeliinae by Woodring (1928); to Euclathurella by Woodring (1970); to Neogastropoda by Sepkoski (2002); to Turridae by Todd (2001) and Baluk (2003); and to Pseudomelaniidae by Bouchet et al. (2011).
