Taxonomy
Protochonetes harricanensis was named by Jin et al. (1993). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is GSC 80491 and 79894, Harricana River, which is in a Telychian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Ekwan River Formation of Canada.
