Taxonomy
Cerithium (Ptychocerithium) perlamellosum was named by Vredenburg (1928) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene; Pakistan.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Ptychocerithium perlamellosum by Iqbal (1969), Iqbal (1980); it was recombined as Cerithium perlamellosum by Harzhauser et al. (2009).
