Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
R. D. Hoare and M. T. Sturgeon 1976Valves small and relatively short. Shell material thin except for the posterior end of tail valve. Head and intermediate valves with a small apex, that of head valve being less distinct, lateral and jugal areas not set off from the jugum and lateral surfaces curve with slight convexity from midline to lateral margins. Tail valve triangular, anterior margin slightly concave, narrow concave keel extends along entire midline and lacks a mucro termination, lateral slopes steep and concave, posterior termination curved up with under surface marked by longitudinally arranged ridges of coalesced granules and shallow medial groove. Sutural laminae well developed, thin and narrow. Surface ornamentation of all valves consists of intermediate-sized granules arranged in intersecting spiral lines and numbering approximately 192 per sq. mm. Girdle unknown.
