Pseudocrommium carmenensis was named by Clark and Durham (1946) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; Bolivar.]. Its type specimen is CAS 31694, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is C.A.S. locality 31694, Colombia, which is in the Bartonian of sandstone Colombia.
It was recombined as Pachycrommium carmenensis by Majima (1989).
