Taxonomy
Trigonocoelia insolita was named by Sowerby (1846) [DISTRIBUTION: Oligocene-Miocene; Chile, Argentina.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Limopsis insolita by Frassinetti and Covacevich (1999) and Griffin and Nielsen (2008).
