Cerithium jenkinsi was named by Martin (1879) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Pakistan, Indonesia.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Potamides (Tympanotonus) jenkinsi by Martin (1884); it was recombined as Potamides (Cerithidea) jenkinsi by Martin (1899) and Vredenburg (1928); it was recombined as Cerithidea (Cerithideopsilla) jenkinsi by Shuto (1978).
