Rissoa (Onoba) litiopaopsis was named by Gardner (1947) [DISTRIBUTION: Early Miocene; Florida.]. Its type specimen is USNM 329036, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is USGS Loc. 2213 - Baileys Ferry, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
