Taxonomy
Peonza benjamina was named by Olivera (1994) [DISTRIBUTION: Miocene; Chile, Argentina.]. Its type specimen is USNM 405860, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Wave cut bench, west side of Stokes Island, which is in a Burdigalian submarine fan sandstone in Chile.
