Taxonomy
Plexodictyon gobiense was named by Bolshakova and Ulitina (1985). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Shovdol Obo Mountains, Baruun-Urt, Eastern Gobi, Sükhbaatar Formation, which is in a Ludlow reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Sükhbaatar Formation of Mongolia.
