Taxonomy

Astyris aldrichi was named by Maury (1910) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Miocene; Florida. COMMENTS: Lectotype used for type specimen and dimensions.]. Its type specimen is PRI 3458, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Strombina aldrichi by Gardner (1947); it was recombined as Strombina (Strombina) aldrichi by Jung (1989).
