Strombina colinensis was named by Hodson (1931) [DISTRIBUTION: Late Miocene; Venezuela.]. Its type specimen is PRI 24075, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Strombina (Strombina) colinensis by Jung (1989).
