Taxonomy
Columbella gradata was named by Guppy (1866) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene; Jamaica. COMMENTS: Type specimen and dimensions based on lectotype.]. Its type specimen is BMNH 64065, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Columbella (Strombina) gradata by Pace (1902); it was recombined as Pyrene (Strombina) gradata by Rutsch (1934); it was recombined as Strombina (Strombina) gradata by Jung (1989).
