Cerithiopsis estellensis was named by Aldrich (1921) [DISTRIBUTION: Paleocene; Gulf Coastal Plain, Mexico.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Bittium (Bittium) estellensis by Perrilliat et al. (2006).
