Taxonomy
Tinosaurus indicus was named by Prasad and Bajpai (2008). Its type specimen is IITR/SB/VLM/904, a mandible (left dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vastan Lignite Mine, which is in a Ypresian lagoonal siltstone/claystone in the Cambay Shale Formation of India.
