Axelella thisbe
Taxonomy
Trigonostoma thisbe was named by Olsson (1964) [DISTRIBUTION: Pliocene; Ecuador.]. Its type specimen is USNM 643879, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Quebrada Camarones [Esmeraldas Fm], which is in a Pliocene marine sandstone/sandstone in the Esmeraldas Formation of Ecuador.
It was recombined as Olssonella thisbe by Petit (1970); it was recombined as Axelella thisbe by Petit (1988) and Landau et al. (2012).
