Arca (Cunearca) chemnitzioides was named by Maury (1912) [DISTRIBUTION: ?Oligocene or Early Miocene; Caribbean.]. Its type specimen is PRI (unknown number), a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Anadara (Cunearca) chemnitzioides by Hendy et al. (2008).
