Taxonomy
Typhlosyrinx chrysoplex was named by Barnard (1963) [DISTRIBUTION: Recent; South Africa.]. It is extant. Its type specimen is SAM A9857, a shell. It is the type species of Typhlosyrinx.

It was recombined as Gymnobela (Theta) chrysoplex by Sysoev (1996).
