Taxonomy

Turritella paracasensis was named by Rivera (1957) [DISTRIBUTION: Middle Eocene; Peru. COMMENTS: Type specimen and measurements based on neotype; holotype lost.]. Its type specimen is UWBM 97719, a shell, and it is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cristispira paracasensis by DeVries (2007).
