Edaphosaurus novomexicanus
Taxonomy
Edaphosaurus novomexicanus was named by Williston and Case (1913). Its type specimen is CNHM (FMNH) UC 674, a partial skeleton (partial skull, vertebrae, limb and girdle elements, ribs), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Arroyo del Agua type locality of Edaphosaurus novomexicanus, which is in a Wolfcampian terrestrial horizon in the Abo/Cutler Formation of New Mexico.
