Taxonomy
Murex turbida was named by Solander in Brander (1766) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Bathytoma turbida by Cordiner and Bone (1986); it was recombined as Epalxis (Bathytoma) turbida by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
