Taxonomy
Pleurotoma granulata was named by Lamarck (1804) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Parnes, Oise (Defrance collection), which is in a Lutetian carbonate sandstone in France.
It was recombined as Drillia granulata by Cordiner and Bone (1986); it was recombined as Crassispira (Tripia) granulata by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995).
