Taxonomy
Buccinum nodosum was named by Solander in Brander (1766) [DISTRIBUTION: Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Cassidaria nodosa by Cossmann and Pissarro (1911) and Telegdi-Roth (1914); it was recombined as Phalium nodosa by Hözl (1962); it was recombined as Galeodea (Mambrinia) nodosa by Pacaud and Le Renard (1995); it was recombined as Galeodea nodosa by Harzhauser and Mandic (2001).
