Rostellaria sublucida was named by Lowry et al. (1866) [DISTRIBUTION; Eocene; western Europe.]. It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Tibia sublucida by Bone and King (1992); it was recombined as Tibia (Eotibia) sublucida by Jeffery and Tracey (1997).
