Taxonomy
Conocerina was named by Ulrich and Foerste (1936) [Sepkoski's age data: O Trem-l Sepkoski's reference number: 524]. Its type is Conocerina brevis.

It was assigned to Cyrtendoceratidae by Ulrich et al. (1943); to Ellesmeroceratidae by Flower (1964), Teichert et al. (1964), Crick (1981); and to Ellesmerocerida by Sepkoski (2002).
