Taxonomy
Neochonetes (Neochonetes) costellata was named by Angiolini (1995). Its type specimen is CK189-1 and is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is CK189, Baroghil E section, Baroghil Pass, which is in a Kungurian open shallow subtidal limestone in the Lashkargaz Formation of Pakistan.
