Taxonomy
Aperispirifer ovalis was named by Waterhouse (1987). Its type specimen is UQF 59270 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UQ L4530, Cracow, which is in a Wordian marine horizon in the Oxtrack Formation of Australia.
