Taxonomy
Schuchertella permiana was named by Stehli (1954). Its type specimen is AMNH 27285 and is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Goniarina permiana by Cooper and Grant (1974), Shen et al. (2011), Tazawa (2012), Tazawa (2016).
